You, along with Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett, are the musician I look up to the most as a truly spontaneous jazz improviser. I love to read your interviews because you have always been concerned with your practicing first and foremost! I am a young pianist who is committed to being a jazz musician, and I was blessed to have a teacher who showed me early on that being an artist is not about fame or recognition, or about how many gigs we play, but about the daily struggle with the craft. Your words and your beautiful playing help me to persevere and keep practicing. Thank you!
