Sonny: I can't tell you how much your music has meant to me over the past 40 years. I'm sure you don't remember, but you graciously autographed an album for me around '65 when you played the Hofbrau House in Hartford, CT. You gave me a stern look (in retrospect I realized the warmth behind it) and said, "What are you doing with three Sonny Rollins albums?" I still appreciate the fact that you took the time to sit and talk with a terrified 16 yr. old kid who had listened to "Sunday at the Village Vanguard" about a million times and memorized every note of your solo's! Words can't express the admiration and gratitude I have for you. I love you, man!
