I was taking a trip to the Amsterdam from Lithuania last year, just to see and hear Mr. Rollins(in Concertgebouw) - my true jazz idol and person I respect a lot. The concert was great, and I believe I was the loudest applauder that time. I can't express how much my soul was happy to be there.
I took one of my favorite Sonny's vinyl records to Amsterdam with a hope to get it signed by Sonny Rollins. After the concert, after Sonny and the band descended the stairs from the stage, I came to Sonny and asked for an autograph. I got no response from him and the guards and some people from the stuff were surrounded him. Then I asked Russel Malone for an autograph, and he said "Later" to me. I was not annoying or aggressive - I was keeping myself on the distance from them, because I respect them. But..
I can't express how sad it was to be near the dream and let it go this way. I still remember the disappointment and believe I will remember it for all my life.
Although I am really glad I have a chance to see my idol's live performance.

When the artist has had had time to wind down from the performance chances are you would have seen them as they left the building and every time i have waited the band and Sonny have given of their time and autographs.
