What's left to be said about one of the greatest of improvisers? Greatest of musicians? Just one more big happy birthday, and we're all so thrilled that you're keeping your music going. As your friend Ralph Gleason said, musicians provide the greatest of inspiration and lessons on living. Your every day just continues to add to that inspiration, deepening and enriching your offered lesson. The world simply cannot thank you enough. No matter how much love you feel you get from your fans, you cannot know how much you give to those who listen to you. The priceless gift of your music is boundless and reaches so many people.
Happiness may be playing the saxophone for you, but you've made it a shining example of living a humane life, and we are forever indebted.
